Terms of use

The private beta

Syren is operated by Aurandel, PBC, a Delaware public benefit corporation. Access is limited to invited adults 18 or older whose accounts have been approved. An invitation request does not guarantee admission. Keep your credentials and invitation private; do not bypass access or verification controls.

AI companions and expectations

Ember, Cash, and custom companions are AI, not people. Their responses can be wrong or inappropriate. They do not provide professional medical, mental health, legal, or financial services. Do not rely on a companion for emergency help or consequential decisions. Features may change, fail, or become unavailable during beta.

Syren is not a crisis service. In the United States, call or text 988, or text HOME to 741741. Elsewhere, use your local crisis service. If there is immediate danger, contact local emergency services.

Permitted use and safety

No minors may use Syren. Content involving minors is prohibited under all circumstances. Do not use the service for unlawful activity, exploitation, threats, abuse, deception, harassment, or harm to others. Do not upload someone else’s private information or imitate a real person’s voice without permission. We may restrict access for violations.

Voice-model restrictions

Supertonic 3 is subject to the BigScience Open RAIL-M license. Its paragraph 5 and Attachment A restrictions apply to your use of its model, derivatives, and output through Syren and are incorporated into these terms. You must comply with those restrictions.

In particular, prohibited uses include illegal activity; harm to minors; deliberately harmful falsehoods or personal data disclosure; harassment or defamation; nonconsensual impersonation; sharing generated material without clear AI disclosure; binding automated decisions affecting legal rights; harmful discrimination or exploitation of vulnerable people; medical advice or interpretation; and use in justice, law-enforcement, immigration, or asylum decisions. Your content and control

Provide only material you are entitled to use. Processing your inputs and relevant context through our providers is necessary to operate conversations, speech, and memory. See the Privacy draft for the data flow and deletion limits. You can end your use and delete your account in the app.

Draft status

These beta terms are pending legal review. They do not attempt to waive mandatory consumer rights. The operator and counsel must finalize applicable regional requirements, dispute terms, service commitments, and the complete provider-license review before a wider launch.
